What is The EDGE? Our mission is to encourage children to encounter God on a personal level and have Every Day God Experiences. What does it mean to have every day God experiences?
By definition, the word "experience" implies being affected by what one meets with: to experience a change of heart. In our 3rd – 6th grade ministry we want our students to experience truth. The truth of who God is, why Jesus shed blood for each of us and what He desires to change in our lives – every day, not just on Sundays. Do you know Moses? What about Job? What about Saul on the road to Damascus? The list continues. Every person in the Bible who ever had a real encounter with God was left with an overwhelming awareness of their brokenness and a deep sense of their sinfulness and unworthiness. Speechless, blinded, humbled…forever changed.
Experiencing God is not a warm and fuzzy feeling. Encountering God is not a short-lived ‘high’ or euphoric rush. Knowing God comes through a personal relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. This is an intimate love relationship with God. Through this relationship God reveals Himself. A personal relationship with God is truly transformative.
